Arundel at War 1642-1644 : A Talk By Rosemary Hagedorn

Rosemary Hagedorn will present new discoveries and a number of intriguing mysteries concerning this almost-forgotten campaign in the Civil War during which Arundel Castle changed hands four times.

Having finally retaken the town, General Waller assembled an army of 10,000 men to besiege the 1000-1500 royalists who held out in the castle, despite starvation and fever, for 19 days.  Eyewitness accounts bring this epic encounter to life.

Tickets : £6 AMS members/£8 non-members.

Bar open 7pm.
